The new R&S®CMW270 WiMAX communication tester is designed to test WiMAX mobile station and customer premises equipment (CPE) in accordance with the IEEE 802.16e standard and the mobile system profiles of the WiMAX Forum.
For time optimized RF calibration in non-signaling mode, the R&S®CMW270 provides fast transmitter measurements and a versatile arbitrary waveform generator for receiver testing.
For RF verification, done in signaling mode, the R&S®CMW270 optionally will provide WiMAX real-time signaling and thus functions as a base station emulator (in preparation). This makes it possible to test the WiMAX mobile stations like in real operation in a WiMAX network. Varying all essential transmission parameters allows comprehensive test scenarios to be simulated.
Due to its real-time signaling capability, the R&S®CMW270 will be able to perform tests on WiMAX mobile stations with chipsets from different manufacturers without requiring any special test mode interface. This considerably reduces the time for developing and standardizing test systems in production, service and quality assurance.
A versatile, integrated RF generator and RF power meter can be used for additional general-purpose measurements such as the calibration of external RF cables.
With its fast measurement functions and signaling features the R&S®CMW270 is optimized for production test. Together with the modular designed platform, it offers the user a cost efficient solution for tests on WiMAX mobile stations
